Andrew Rizzo adidas SPZL was founded in 2014 as a means to celebrate adidas’ legacy and vast archive. Over a decade later, Gary Aspden and co. are continuing to come out with gems rooted in Three Stripes heritage.
Earlier this year, the adidas sub-brand debuted a new model called the Roelee SPZL, pairing the foxing of the Gazelle with the upper of the Whalley silhouette. Following the release of a “Pine Green” colorway (style code #JP9887), adidas SPZL is pressing forth with a European drop limited to just 1,888 units. Two different shades of grey suede appear up top: a light base layer with darker accents on the serrated eyelets and T-toe. Light blue leather makes up the tongue, back tab, and stripes, while the model’s hybrid Gazelle sole comes in light gum.
As noted by Gary Aspden on IG, the idea behind this grey Roelee SPZL was to create a neutral design that appeals to fans of all soccer teams. The grey colorway actually stems from the adidas Madeira, complete with the SPZL logo and gold SPZL F.C. text on the heel.
The adidas Roelee SPZL releases via EU retailers like Asphaltgold, END. Clothing, and SVD on September 19th, 2025. Pricing appears inconsistent, but most stores should have the sneaker listed for around $150-$160. See detailed images below if you plan on going for a pair.
