Tomo Koizumi Adds Interchangeable Swooshes To The Nike Air Superfly

Sneaker brands continue to tap today’s most revered dressmakers for collaborations. ASICS has Cecilie Bahnsen, adidas has Caroline Hu, and Nike has Susan Fang — all of whom have earned high praise for their fusions of couture and street aesthetics in the sneaker world. The latest name to enter the mix is Japanese designer Tomo Koizumi, who brings a compelling, outside-the-box take on the resurgent Nike Air Superfly.

The low-cut racing-turned-lifestyle shoe here features a striking chameleon-esque finish, with shifting shades of blue and green appearing on a metallic base layer. While general-release Air Superfly styles sport mini Swoosh logos at the heel, Koizumi’s pair stands out with oversized black Velcro Swooshes on the side, allowing countless styling possibilities. Each pair includes three sets of interchangeable Swooshes: iridescent silver logos, plus two ruffled sets inspired by Koizumi’s hallmark runway aesthetic — one in rainbow shades and another in all black. Black ribbon laces weave through metal eyelets for added elegance, while a multicolor gradient hits the forefoot and heel portions of the outsole.

Special packaging rounds out the release, with all six interchangeable Swooshes affixed to Velcro on the top of the box, accompanied by custom rainbow wrapping paper.

The Tomo Koizumi x Nike Air Superfly debuts at Dover Street Market Ginza and select Japanese retailers on September 19th. The global release is set for September 20th via Nike SNKRS and select retail partners. Women’s sizes are expected, but no MSRP has been floated yet.
