Kobe Bryant and Nike have been on a journey through the Air Force 1. The Black Mamba has stamped his presence on the iconic basketball silhouette, dropping a series of collaborative styles including a reworked Air Force 1 Protro iteration for 2025 and beyond. For this Holiday season, Nike and the Kobe Brand are ready to unleash yet another bold take, this time channeling an iconic release from 2007.
The first reports of the Kobe Bryant x Air Force 1 in Linen/University Blue surfaced back in Spring of 2025, but there was no indication that Nike would actually bring back this classic. It features a tan suede upper with tucked seams to hide the exterior stitching, while the heel panel has been removed to make way for an awesome portrait of Kobe Bryant. His serious gaze is etched into the suede exterior, sitting beneath the Swoosh logo. Pictured below are the shoes in Grade School sizes, confirming that both adult and smaller sizes will be available for purchase.
As mentioned above, this Air Force 1 is a reprisal of a past release. Back in 2007 for the 25th Anniversary of the Air Force 1, Nike released an updated version of the all-time classic silhouette. While similar in shape, these Air Force 1s featured a translucent rubber mid-sole to reveal the Air cushioning embedded inside. Considering the 2007 version of the Air Force 1 Supreme “Kobe” retailed at $250, we can surmise that the upcoming 2025 version will not feature the visible Air unit at the heel based on the confirmed $150 price-tag.
As it stands, a firm release date has not been revealed just yet, but a drop is penciled in for the Holiday season (October, November, or December).
