The Neon 95s Are Charging Up Other Nike Air Max Models

The Air Max 95‘s iconic “Neon” might be Nike’s most-borrowed color scheme of all-time. It’s been on the Air Force 1, on hiking shoes, on performance gear, and even Air Jordans. Call it a perfect colorway, and we couldn’t and wouldn’t argue.

It’s going down once more as this unforgettable grey and neon appears on the Air Max TL 2.5, a silhouette from the mid-2000s era that has since been revived. On this silhouette, the palette expresses itself accurately due to the TL 2.5’s organic design; it carries a similar gradient-like layering of colors on the upper, while succinct hits of the electric green pops out without much effort on the full-length Air unit and the small Swoosh logo.

The major difference here is that the TL 2.5 tends to use synthetic leather materials for the mudguard, taking away from the naturally occurring mutes on suede. That lends to a much sportier aesthetic for the more recent model.

The Air Max TL 2.5 is stylish in itself, but is not often regarded as part of the core Air Max legacy. Nike hasn’t opted for much in the collaborations department either; after the initial partnership with Japan’s Comme des Garçons, the model has been relegated to the brand’s seasonal “GR” program. That said, you can find these on Nike.com later this year for $180.
