As the Jordan Trunner LX and Trunner O/S rise to the surface at the end of the year, the legacy of Mike’s off-the-court silhouette is a plotline foregrounded once again with those lifestyle kicks. When the product line launched in the 2000s, could anyone have guessed the far-flung silhouettes that the Air Jordan stamp would land on some two decades later?

If you were to bring a modern shoe back to that era, the Air Jordan Mule would likely elicit the most visceral reactions, but it’s perfectly at home in today’s footwear world. Where the Beaverton creation breaks from its competitors is in its chunky platform, bucking the slim-soled hardware delivered by other formalwear mashups. Though the shoe at hand relies on the monochromatic design we’ve seen from the model plenty of times before, it does have a significant innovation in its material, unveiling the first suede edition of the shoe we’ve seen to date.

The Air Jordan Mule “Soft Pearl” touches down as part of the Jumpman’s Fall/Winter offerings, exclusive to women’s sizing and retailing at $145.
