Atiba Jefferson And Vans Are Officially “United Through Skateboarding”

Atiba Jefferson and Vans are no strangers to one another, having worked together on countless campaigns and skate shoots in the past. However, their relationship gained a new layer recently, as Jefferson was elevated to collaborator status with the release of his photo-laden Vans OTW collection. We uncovered an all-orange edition of the Old Skool 36 as part of our coverage there, now officially given the press stamp as the Atiba Jefferson x Vans “United Through Skateboarding” collection comes to light.

A full breadth of styles is depicted in the gallery below, most capitalizing on a monochromatic aesthetic. In particular, the Old Skool 36 and a modified Half Cab are in focus for this initial drop. While the Old Skool plays things relatively safe with that comprehensive orange coating, the all-white Half Cab bears weightier hardware changes, carrying a WaffleCup outsole for the first time in the model’s history and featuring Jefferson’s own photography on the insole.

Though it has no impact whatsoever on the shoes, we will note another takeaway from this campaign: Jefferson’s ultra-eclectic inner circle, on display with these campaign shots. Along with more expected compatriots like pro skaters Lizzie Armanto, Zion Wright, and Shiloh Catori, Tim Robinson of I Think You Should Leave, former NFL tight end C.J. Uzomah, former Los Angeles Clipper Baron Davis, and all three of the Workaholics appear to promote Jefferson’s latest.

The Atiba Jefferson x Vans “United Through Skateboarding” collection, including the Old Skool and Half Cab featured here, is available now via Vans.com and partnering retailers. The apparel options shown here are also up for grabs. Expect a follow-up capsule coming on October 16th.
