Nike is continuing to build up its recovery footwear genre with a new model called the Nike Mind 001, releasing in January 2026.

For all the mania surrounding the Air Max 95 and the stacked slate of Air Jordan releases for the line’s 40th anniversary, the most viral Nike, Inc. release of 2025 has arguably been the ReactX Rejuven8 — a foam slip-on many have likened to a Crocs competitor. The Nike Mind 001, meanwhile, looks unlike any slip-on we’ve seen before.

We should lead with the fact that Nike hasn’t officially announced the model yet, meaning the exact intentions behind its engineering aren’t fully clear. That said, history allows us to make some safe assumptions. The key feature is a series of round spheres on the outsole that supposedly push up into the footbed with each step, creating a gentle massage effect based on the wearer’s gait. On the flipside, the insoles feature textured dots that mirror where those spheres are positioned within the sole.

Design-wise, it’s hard not to be reminded of the adidas Kobe 1 (now called the Crazy 1). Much like the Mamba’s first and most controversial signature shoe, the Nike Mind 001 features a chunky, industrial molded structure with crinkled sidewalls and a perforated mesh layer over the forefoot. Packaging and sneaker callouts also reference Nike’s science arm – the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) – which uses advanced technology to study athlete performance.

When does the Nike Mind 001 release?

This “Light Smoke Grey/Chrome/Photon Dust/Hyper Crimson” colorway is one of several styles set to release in January 2026.

How much does the Nike Mind 001 retail for?

The Nike Mind 001 will retail for $85, which lands toward the higher end of the recovery slip-on market (about $15 more than the ReactX Rejuven8, for example).
