Engineered Garments’ sneaker portfolio is vast and far-reaching, with Daiki Suzuki’s brand having checked off projects with names like adidas, Converse, New Balance, and most notably Vans throughout its 25+ year history. That said, there are still a handful of “firsts” out there — now one less of them.
The New York-based brand has long been known for reimagining American staple silhouettes, and that’s exactly what we get from its first collaboration with Saucony. The Saucony Shadow silhouette, an icon in its own right, is here presented here in a new style inspired by wingtip dress shoes — a longstanding essential in the world of menswear.

To start, the upper is crafted from premium leather. The overlays feature serrations and perforations reminiscent of traditional Scottish and Irish brogues, complemented by waxed laces. This is a style we’ve seen replicated a handful of times in recent seasons, most notably through adidas Samba and Nike Air Force 1 releases. Earlier this year, Engineered Garments also dropped a wingtip-inspired collab on the Reebok Instapump Fury 94 silhouette.
The Engineered Garments Saucony Shadow “Wingtip” is available now in brown and black leather colorways at Nepenthes, both in-store and online. A larger release is set for October 17th through the Saucony website. Expect a $180 retail price if you’re looking to cop.
