Nike Should Really Drop This Unreleased Air Foamposite One “Halloween” Sample From 2016

A look back at what could've been.

Nike Should Really Drop This Unreleased Air Foamposite One “Halloween” Sample From 2016

Feel a bit shorted with Halloween sneakers this year? You’re not alone. Although there have been some drops scheduled for the spooky holiday (the Nike Halloween Shoes 2025 line-up is solid), 2025 seems a bit light in regards to the holiday-themed footwear.

This unreleased Air Foamposite One sample from 2016 gives us a peek into what was cooked inside the kitchen, but never made it out to the dinner spread. Featuring an all-black upper with the visage of the jack-o-lantern on the heel, these Halloween Foamposites act as an exemplar of how a perfect shoe needs nothing more than a simple concept on a fitting silhouette. The rounded shape of the Foamposite’s heel resemble the natural shape of a pumpkin, lending seamlessly to this fun idea.

Taking things a step further are the glow-in-the-dark aspects added to the mouth of the decoration. In natural light, a standard orange and yellow is used to achieve the late-autumn aesthetic.

With these samples being nearly a decade old, it’s likely that this Foamposite “Halloween” sample will never see a release, but hopefully this galvanizes the brand to push a little harder for 2026.
