Matt Varga The women’s game has progressed in a ton of ways since the W’s standard bearers first suited up, from visibility to skill to everything in between. Of course, we pay particular attention to the footwear aspect of that evolution, the league now supporting a full range of signature shoes for their biggest stars: the Reebok Angel Reese 1, the PUMA Stewie 4, and eventually the Nike Caitlin Clark 1, currently supported with inline looks like the Kobe 6 “Caitlin Clark.”
In a past-meets-present moment, the Swoosh’s support for the WNBA in its earlier days is coming back to the fore, as plans of a retro of the Sue Bird PE Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 are trickling out. Suited up by the arguable GOAT in her first championship season and her third year overall, the model wore a. white base bracketed by team-ready gren and orange, something expected to return faithfully in this bring-back effort. Overall, this adds to news of the Kobe Bryant-worn “All-Star” Zoom Huarache 2k4 and the Penny Hardaway “Knicks” Zoom Huarache 2k4 in a rangy, crate-digging effort to reintroduce the aughts hoops model. Zoom out in Beaverton’s efforts for similar retros in the Hyperflight and it becomes clear that the turn-of-the-century era of Nike Basketball is a focus for the brand moving forward.
Expect the NIke Zoom HUarache 2k4 “Sue Bird” PE is expected to release come Fall 2026. Retail pricing is unconfirmed, but note that we reported the “All-Star’ with a $210 MSRP, likely to aarry over for this edition.
