The Kentucky Wildcats Get A Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE

With every new college basketball season comes a wave of Nike Basketball PEs — made for student-athletes to wear and the rest of us to admire from afar. As the most popular signature line at all levels of the sport, it’s no surprise that those packages often consist of Kobe Bryant shoes. Following a set of Kobe 5 Protro styles for Duke, that other school with blue and white uniforms has revealed a pair of its own.

The Kentucky Wildcats men’s and women’s programs have unveiled a Nike Kobe 5 Protro PE in the school’s signature blue and white, complete with the interlocking “UK” logo on the left tongue. The sneaker is essentially an inverse of one of the Duke pairs, featuring blue hits on the tongue, toe box, quarter, and rear portion of the midsole. The remaining details — including the lining, Swoosh logos, and forefoot overlays — appear in white.

These won’t see a public release, but if you’re looking for something similar, the Kobe 6 Protro “Dodgers” from earlier this year is pretty on-par aesthetically. See detailed images of the Kentucky PE below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page bookmarked to stay up to date on all upcoming basketball shoe drops.
