The Nike Book 2 Cops A “Spiridon” Colorway

Back to where it all started. Both in-person in Beaverton and for onlookers, the inspiration that Devin Booker’s latest silhouette takes from Christian Tresser’s totemic Nike Air Zoom Spiridon is immediately apparent; in tooling with its ribbon-like lace containment, in overall shape, and in spirit. So why not carry that across the board? Now confirmed via the man himself as he laced up this pair before Phoenix Suns’ bout with the Los Angeles Lakers, the Nike Book 2 will make things official with a “Spiridon” colorway come Spring 2026.

For sneaker historians or anyone who’s come across the beloved mesh runner, you won’t struggle to see the seeds of that late 90s design with this basketball application. The grey/navy split from the original branches onto Book’s version, replete with metallic red Swooshes (both at the quarter and in mini variations throughout) to boot.

Compositionally, this shows off one of three builds we’ve seen for the nascent silhouette so far, adding a mesh counterpart to the nubuck and synthetic ones that debuted in the “Rising” and “Phoenix,” respectively, the latter drawing comparisons to the chunky Foamposite designs of old. Moreover, this proves a secondary “full circle moment” in the Book 2 story so far; Booker and lead designer Ben Nethongkome cited the Nike SB Nyjah 2 as a touchpoint in creating the shoe, one that already took cues from the Spiridon and would look to this same colorway in its market run.

Again, the Nike Book 2 “Spiridon” is due out come Spring 2026; the “Rising” and “Phoenix” editions will begin the model’s overall run a bit earlier in January. Be ready for a $140 MSRP.
