In a world in which LaMelo Ball freely links up with Rick & Morty, expressing off-the-wall pop cultural items through the lens of hoops shoes is a vibrant vertical. While Tyrese Haliburton is additionally nodding to Love & Basketball on his own signature shoe, PUMA is proving they don’t necessarily need their featured athletes to explore the world of film, issuing a collaboration with E.T. on the All-Pro NITRO 2.

Worn by non-signature hoopers like RJ Barrett, Marcus Smart, and Josh Giddey, the All-Pro Nitro 2 remains one of the brand’s foremost inline hardwood kicks, making it a fitting candidate for this starry link-up. The overtones of the shoe stick to general intergalactic motifs, from the galaxy print in the mesh upper, to the night sky midsoles, and the LGM-style translucent green outsoles. Flip to the latter side for the most evident nod to the actual film, as the iconic silhouette of the disguised alien beset by the moon sides up next to spell-out branding. Shift over to the for more creative expressions, highlighted by a graphic pair of basketball shorts depictiing the full cast of characters.

The PUMA x ET collection, including a range of graphic tees, a hoodie, pants, shorts, and a vest, are due out on December 19th via PUMA online, in-store, and select retail partners. The All-Pro NITRO 2 clocks in at $140, with the associated pieces starting as low as $40.
