Andrew Rizzo Ever since the SNKRS app launched, Nike has steadily rolled out new ways for buyers to chase high-heat drops. The familiar formats like draws, shock drops, queue drops, and first come first serve releases have been joined by a growing list of experimental release types including Stash, Reserve, Pass, Scratch, and Link. Now Nike is adding another to the mix, and if your sneaker knowledge bag runs deep, you’re probably gonna be a fan.
Nike has introduced SNKRS Code, an experience that unlocks exclusive access through the discovery of a hidden password or phrase. The code can take a variety of forms including trivia answers, special phrases, or other creative clues, and can show up in SNKRS content or possibly even in physical locations.
Nike tested the feature for the first time with a SNKRS Code drop for the limited LAAMS Air Force 1, which sold out within moments of appearing on the app. Additional releases for the shoe are scheduled for December 6th through LAAMS and December 13th through SNKRS.
