Sneaker loafers and other formal hybrid mashups have been one of the hottest topics in the footwear world in 2025, more a viral trend than real-world movement, but a trend nonetheless. ASICS hasn’t ventured down that path as much as its competition, namely its Japanese counterpart Mizuno, but the brand’s latest Sportstyle release gives off clear 9-to-5 energy.

Here we have an upcoming ASICS GEL-Kinetic SP duo that employs brand-new tooling. The sole is the same as that of the ultra-premium GEL-Quantum Kinetic, but the upper is entirely new, designed to look dressy with leather panels featuring dress-shoe-inspired detailing. Rope laces add an oxford-like vibe, complemented by ASICS logos on the lateral side of the heel (embossed in metal) and the toe box (stitched on).

Two colorways will be available: a brown “Java” and an all-black option. The ASICS GEL-Kinetic SP has already begun surfacing at retailers overseas, which suggests a global release is imminent (likely for Holiday 2025 or Spring 2026). See official images below if you’re moved to cop.
