No sneaker brand is more willing to overhaul its mainline models than New Balance. Look no further than the ever-expanding 1906 family – when it comes to experimenting with new tooling, the Boston sneaker giant is matched by few, if any. They’re taking that same effort on their prized new silhouette of 2025 – the New Balance 2000.
The New Balance 2000 has quickly become a focal point for the brand moving forward, tapping into the same chunky “dad shoe” sort of appeal that made the New Balance 9060 ubiquitous. This latest style debuts an entirely new upper, ditching the supple synthetic construction seen on earlier versions in favor of tribal-inspired TPU detailing. The all-black colorway is arguably the perfect introduction for the new tooling, allowing the sculpted hardware to take center stage. Even the New Balance branding has been adjusted to match the theme, with the quarter logo adopting sharp diagonal points and the tongue framed by subtle embossed detailing.
