Andrew Rizzo We just saw New Balance wrap up its latest Made in USA collection with a heater, a New Balance 992 dressed in premium snakeskin leather that sold out almost instantly at most retailers. Thankfully, the Boston brand has another snakeskin treatment style on the way that’s plenty clean in its own right.
Here we have a New Balance 1906R in “Thunder Brown,” featuring snakeskin leather overlays laid over a matching mesh base. The shoe is nearly monochromatic in its namesake brown shade, broken up only by black hits on the tongue and midsole. For all the variations the 1906R has seen since its return in 2022, this is the first time the model has received a snakeskin treatment by our count. And based on how clean it looks, it shouldn’t be the last.
The New Balance 1906R “Snakeskin” aka “Thunder Brown” has already begun surfacing at retailers overseas (Size? and END. Clothing to name a couple). A wider global release through New Balance channels should be on the way soon. See official images below if you’re considering picking these up.
