A’ja did exactly that in December of last year, turning heads with a set of custom gold grillz featuring diamonds, 18K gold laurels representing her Olympic and FIBA medals, and even her signature logo.
When A’ja and the Las Vegas Aces captured their third WNBA Finals trophy earlier this year, she stepped out in a Nike A’One style featuring a gold grillz hangtag and dripping gold Swooshes, a fitting expression of her personal style and a trophy case that speaks for itself. Now we’re learning that the very same pair is set to receive a public release on January 1st.
The sneaker strikes a smart balance between the Las Vegas Aces color palette and personal symbolism without going overboard. Gold Swooshes cascade along the sides, matched by gold hits across the branding, subtle gold flakes on the midsole, and of course the gold grillz hangtag. Black appears on the tongue, lining, and heel tab, while the upper leans mostly white.
