Justin Herbert Wears Nike Sabrina 3 Inspired Me vs. Me Cleat

With a verifiable thrashing of the Dallas Cowboys, the Los Angeles Chargers are in a plum position for the postseason, now everything but clinched as they head into the final two weeks of the season. Perhaps more inspiring than any seeding implications, Justin Herbert posted arguably his best outing of the year en route to an easy W.

In the wake of that, we’re left to ask: Is it the shoes? The former Duck nodded to a once-classmate with his on-field wear in Week 16, lacing up a cleat based on the Nike Sabrina 3 “Most Valuable Mascot.” In contrast to some “cleatified” crossovers that have dominated the gridiron this year, this obviously doesn’t adapt Ionescu’s latest signature from a hardware perspective, instead sticking almost unfettered to the base Nike Vapor Pro 1. The colorway, replete with alternating silver and red Swooshes and fiery “S” brands, does much of the heavy lifting in this Oregon meets Oregon concept. Notably, more than just a shared alma mater, Herbert and Ionescu were of the same graduating class, uniting two of the best currently going in their respective pursuits and providing a campus lookback.

At the time of publication, the Nike Vapor Pro 1 “Most Valuable Mascot” is exclusive to J Herbo, but with the Swoosh’s on-field arm only expanding, we can’t entirely rule out a launch down the road. For now, take in this bit of sentimental performance wear via the gallery below.
