The adidas Megaride F50 Cops A Patriotic “Bluebird” Colorway

A host country homage?

The adidas Megaride F50 Cops A Patriotic “Bluebird” Colorway

Hardcore sneakerheads may have an inherent negative association with the word “mashup,” stained by past experiences with chimeras of Jordan DNA or erstwhile Swoosh x Cole Haan link-ups. However, in recent years, designers from brands across the landscape have showcased more a deft touch in combining archival designs, from the breakout success of the New Balance 1906R (easy to forget it wears the 860’s sole unit) or future-forward silhouettes like the adidas Megaride F50.

With maximalist retro design cresting anew, the Three Stripes has brought back Megaride cushioning back to the fore, chiefly as a (literal) platform to retrofit its soccer icons for use outside of the pitch. The incoming 2026 World Cup presents a splashy opportunity for the silhouette at hand and its peers to take center stage in the catalog, something especially evident with the “USA” style palette at work.

Retaining the gridded layout of its performance counterpart, the Megaride F50 utilizes aquatic white and blue throughout its topmost section, particularly eyecatching in a synthetic gradient base, before splashing in tertiary red accents within the bouncy propulsion underfoot.

The adidas Megaride F50 “Bluebird” has already started hitting select global adidas channels, likely a sign that pairs releasing stateside shouldn’t be too far behind. Upon arrival, be ready for the silhouette’s usual $170 retail price.
