The Zoom Hyperflight marks a significant moment in the Nike Basketball timeline of design. It represents the massive shift to seamless uppers and synthetics, leaving leathers and suedes in the past and leaping forward into the future of footwear. The Hyperflight is easily one of the most distinct hooping shoes ever; with barely any Swoosh logos on it, Nike chose to let the appearance do the talking. One quick glance, and you knew it was a Nike shoe.
The Hyperflight was renowned not only for its alien-esque design, but for its mega-lightweight properties and insanely vibrant colors. Nike tapped a number of future stars to be the unofficial face of the silhouette, and there simply was no player in the NBA as captivating as Jason Williams, the Sacramento Kings guard who threw out the practical playbook and brought street-ball flair to the NBA hardwood.

One pair that Williams aka J-Will wore was purple-black Player Exclusive; it featured his “55” jersey number stitched onto the tongue as well as his shortened nickname at the heel. Nike is looking to bring back this exact pair this Spring 2026 season, complete with these PE details. It’s not often Nike will bring back an actual PE design, so consider this a real treat for Hyperflight and J-Will fans. Look out for these soon for $170.
