Obviously, the XT-4 and XT-6 stand at the front of that class, but the French company’s marketing pushes behind the XT-Pathway and XT-Whisper have added additional flanks to that core duo.
If the collab newswire and internal launch calendars are anything to go by, the Salomon XT-Quest may be a rising star as the footwear giant enters 2026. Several new GORE-Tex inline pairs are already listed on the Salomon site, and OAMC, founded by former Supreme and Vans leader Luke Meier and business partner Arnaud Faeh, earns the first shared design for the model in some time, last visited with a Slam Jam pair in 2022.
Blending lugged ContaGrip traction from Salomon’s stable of hiking gear and the contours of the XT-Wings, an additional leather wraparound panel is what really sets this silhouette apart, here bolstered by OAMC with silver bangles, patent leather trim, and a weather-ready lace shroud. With Meier’s imprint long having championed militaristic design, the fact that this shoe develops an all-black script shouldn’t ultimately be too surprising, a pitch-perfect match for the hardware notes that the XT-Quest offers up.
The OAMC x Salomon XT-Quest releases on January 15th via Salomon and partnering retailers, expected to clock in at $185.
