Before you know it, all of our chief functional concerns will go from meeting colder climates to figuring out how to stay cool. Getting ahead of that, adidas is unveiling a “Basket Weave” concept, utilizing interlocked synthetics to create the body of three beloved models, all trotting out in women’s sizing for the seasons ahead.
All of the selections here align with the women-focused tailwind that adidas continues to champion; the Stan Smith speaking to “low-pro” aesthetics, the Taekwondo speaking to “balletcore,” and the Samba speaking for itself. Given its minimal sole unit, the Stan Smith dedicates the most surface area to this “Basket Weave” concept, flipping its iconic white/green and only leaving its lace unit and back tab in usual leather. Like other material dalliances it’s experienced before, the Samba only swaps out its base layer, hitting what’s a default colorway for the silhouette in “black/gum” before shifting to an earthier off-white/brown. Lastly, the Taekwondo Mei keeps to a two-tone script, all cream up top and all gum below.
The adidas “Basket Weave” pack should be hitting adidas.com as Spring ’26 rolls on. Retail pricing for these colorways hasn’t been confirmed just yet, but expect slight premiums on each model’s usual sticker price given the material changes.
