Following the introduction of an all-black patent leather and a converted “Legend Blue,” the Air Jordan 11 “Rare Air” executes a quick turnaround from retail debut to cleated overhaul.
The narrative elements that made this a part of the cutting room floor collection, including the almost patriotic colorway and the “JORDAN” text down the eyelets, remain in place. As with all of the Jumpman’s baseball fare, the toothed MCS traction replaces the usual cat-like outsole. Finally, in a clever nod to brand history, an interior tongue patch flips an old brand motto: “Quality baseball products inspired by the greatest player ever.”
