The Air Jordan 11 “Rare Air” Becomes A Baseball Cleat

For years, if any non-hardwood athletes wanted to bring their tunnel heat onto the field of play, they’d have to look to outside sources, often enlisting customizers and aftermarket artisans to take retail versions and add performance platforms. In recent years, Nike, Inc. has become increasingly willing to cut out the middleman in that equation, bringing their stable of head-turning models to the gridiron and to the diamond of their own accord.

No doubt, retrofittings for the Kobe 6 “Grinch” and the “White Cement” Jordan 4 already set up a flashy foundation for that initiative, but Beaverton has made headlines in recent months by inducting the Air Jordan 11, an ever-vaunted and beloved silhouette, into their sports catalog. Following the introduction of an all-black patent leather and a converted “Legend Blue,” the Air Jordan 11 “Rare Air” executes a quick turnaround from retail debut to cleated overhaul.

The narrative elements that made this a part of the cutting room floor collection, including the almost patriotic colorway and the “JORDAN” text down the eyelets, remain in place. As with all of the Jumpman’s baseball fare, the toothed MCS traction replaces the usual cat-like outsole. Finally, in a clever nod to brand history, an interior tongue patch flips an old brand motto: “Quality baseball products inspired by the greatest player ever.”

Expect the Air Jordan 11 “Rare Air” MCS Baseball Cleats to arrive shortly, retailing for $220. If you’re keen on grabbing a pair to throw out a first pitch with, watch our Jordan Release Dates 2026 page for more launch info as it comes.

Elsewhere in the Jumpman universe, the Jordan 4 “Valentine’s Day” looms as a fixture of this February.
