Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chinese New Year” Launches On February 17th

Could anyone have predicted how hard Nike, Inc. would go on the “Year of the Horse?” We all knew that ceremonial wear would pace the newswire the same way it has for several years running, but the spread of the initiative onto collab fare like the Levi’s Jordan 3 capsule or the fact that there are three separate Kobe 8 Year of the Horse” colorways we’ve caught wind of is another question entirely. Somewhere between general release fare and coveted special edition sits the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chinese New Year,” now beginning to look toward its release date.

Given the “Year of the Horse” angle that’s been dominant in Beaverton’s products so far in 2026, it’s no shock to see pony hair materials define the heel cup and Swoosh. What is a bit more surprising is the use of traditional floral embroidery, making a massive impact as it runs rampant over the toe box, heavily contrasting the off-white tonality that dominates the rest of the shoe. Perhaps the most creative touch comes with the tongue tag, rolled up into a scroll and “sealed” with a ribbon of red thread, taking a traditional angle on the packaging and delivering a gold-on-gold flip of the usual AJ1 shoe box for some peripheral flair.

Again, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Chinese New Year” is queued up for a February 17 release via SNKRS and partnering retailers. A $165 sticker price is confirmed. Watch our Jordan Release Dates hub for a complete store list once revealed and for any additional updates.
