The BAPE adidas World Cup Collection Is Almost Here

No punches pulled for the longtime collaborators.

The BAPE adidas World Cup Collection Is Almost Here

When it comes to how brands meet the moment, the World Cup isn’t just about what athletes will wear for the international showcase, but equally about how everyday folks cheer on their countries’ squads. In that sport-meets-style lane, it’s only right that the Three Stripes look to one of their more established partners in BAPE for the occasion. After we previewed what’d be in store all the way back in August, the BAPE x adidas World Cup collection is almost upon us.

The Samba and Campus, both veterans of the BAPE adidas universe, take to relatively standard applications of the Japanese giant’s hallmarks. The former applies a tasteful cream and gum combination with green branding between, swapping between the BAPE star on the lateral side and Three Stripes on the medial. The Campus mirrors that branding touch but opts for black croc materiality for a luxe twist on a black/white it’s worn countless times before.

Of course, that leaves the HRMY as the most radical inclusion here, pulling a shoe that’s gotten some spotlight in recent months via its Sneaker Politics collaboration and one that speaks to the chunky, oversized aesthetics that’ve also propelled the Jellyfish. Its colorway is the hardest to miss, utilizing patented ABC camo in the uppers and fiery shark tooth touches in the sole unit.

The official announcement also gives us insight into the apparel and accessories that’ll accompany the shoes. On top of more standard issues like a Shark Hoodie, Denim Shorts, parachute pants, and an APE graphic tee, actual World Cup history is on display with a denim star print jersey and a collared jersey, either of which interprets archival Japanese kits. Co-branded scarves and a Trefoil shoulder bag highlight a range of accessories coming alongside.

The BAPE x adidas collection lands via CONFIRMED and partnering retailers on February 7th. The HRMY clocks in at $210, while the Campus and Samba each command a $160 retail price.
