The latter is particularly relevant as Saucony trots out the “The Runners” campaign, the Massachusetts-born brand spotlighting a short film that meditates “on connection and community.” Sure, shaving down your mile time as much as possible is fantastic in its own right, but as brand president Rob Griffths calls out: “running is ultimately about the connections we forge, the communities we build, and the collective energy that propels us forward.” In answering-machine narration, “The Runners” takes the viewer through every manner of motivation to run, but keeps that ethos at the center.
A lucky handful of brand, media, and community partners were able to catch an early screening at New York’s Metrograph Theater. An equal-handed celebration of retro (Progrid Guide 7, Omni 9) and modern performance (Guide 19, Endorphin Pro 5) “The Runners” materially champions how regardless of category, running remains the beating heart of the Saucony mission.
