Albeit online virality might outpace its real-world presence, there’s no denying that the Nike Air Rift is having a moment. Kim Kardashian has made sure of it. The lore-packed tabi-toe runner continues to find its footing within the growing ballet-style footwear movement, and we can expect things to ramp up even more as warmer months approach.

Here we have a new Summer 2026 style featuring a black and leopard print pairing. Nike has proven its ability to experiment with different textures on the Air Rift, but this pair interestingly sticks with the standard nylon build rather than faux pony hair.

Quick lore overview if you’re unfamiliar: the Nike Air Rift debuted in 1996 with a design inspired by Kenyan barefoot runners, meant to mimic the natural sensation of running without traditional footwear. The model has seen its share of peaks and valleys since, punctuated by memorable releases like a 2004 Halle Berry collab as part of Nike’s Artist Series.
