Much hay is made of the Air Jordan 4‘s reign at the top of the Retro catalog, and the “Gamma” at the end of 2025 that under the right circumstances, the Air Jordan 11 can challenge for that status as well. Yet underdiscussed in that conversation is the Air Jordan 5, minting back-to-back early-year successes with the Air Jordan 5 “Black Metallic Reimagined” and 12 months later with the Jordan 5 “Wolf Grey.”
Could the AJ5 see a three-peat for Summer? More detailed shots of the Air Jordan 5 “White Metallic” have come to light, a shoe that carries the aughts origins of the “Wolf Grey” and obviously the same aesthetic inspirations as the “Black Metallic.” Inverting the dark suede build of the OG and replacing it with pristine leather, the finer touches of the 1990 standards stick around; silver hits in the sharktooth detailing and a grey 3M tongue. Perhaps because this does mark just the shoe’s second return to shelves, the 2000 and 2015 pairs comparable almost one-to-one, outside of shape updates that define all recent AJ5 pairs.
