Andrew Rizzo We’ve officially entered 2027 Jordan release territory. While still a ways out, zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files report that the Air Jordan 6 “Carmine,” last released in 2021, will help kick off the year with a Spring 2027 drop.
If your first reaction is “already?” that’s fair – 2021 doesn’t feel all that long ago. Still, the timing lines up with how this colorway has historically been handled. The Air Jordan 6 “Carmine” first returned in 2008 as part of the Countdown Pack, followed by retros in 2014 and 2021, putting it on a roughly six-to-seven-year cycle.
The 2021 pair was notable for bringing back Nike Air branding on the heel for the first time since the OG, and given how frequently that detail has been used since, it’s safe to assume the 2027 version will probably follow suit. As with any retro, expect slight differences in shape and color execution.
Though generally considered an original colorway, the Jordan 6 “Carmine” wasn’t worn by MJ when the model debuted during the 1990–91 season. It wasn’t until the Chicago Bulls’ first ring night later that year that he actually laced them up. The model was also on-foot for one of the hardest Jordan photos of all time (subjectively speaking), taken during a November 1991 matchup in Denver.
