Few design teams are as passionate and meticulous about brand heritage as Gary Aspden’s adidas SPZL. Built around reworking vintage adidas archive pieces, the line has cultivated one of the most dedicated and knowledgeable fanbases in sneakers, helped in no small part by Aspden himself, who regularly breaks down the finer details on his IG. Now deep into Spring/Summer 2026, the latest SPZL drop delivers another six styles primed to have archive lovers reaching for their wallets.
The lineup includes the Mendocino SPZL, Burnden II SPZL, Longridge SPZL, Samoa II SPZL, Gralfy SPZL, and Punstock SPZL, offering a healthy mix of old and new interpretations. The Punstock SPZL is probably the most notable of the bunch, originally introduced in 2018 as a Wallabee-esque spin on the adidas Freizeit. This year’s version swaps brown leather for a softer beige suede build.
