Sneaker News Jordan Brand’s college PE program continues to deliver some of the most coveted non-retail releases in the game, and the latest wave of XIVs just featured one that hits closest to its origin.
Following a series of reveals across its affiliated schools, the spotlight now turns to the Houston Cougars and their take on the Air Jordan 14. Like its counterparts, the design draws directly from the iconic Air Jordan 14 “Ferrari,” a 2014 release that famously translated automotive inspiration into one of the most unique colorways in the Jordan archive.
The formula remains intact across the collection: rich suede uppers, carbon fiber detailing along the midsole, and a Ferrari-inspired badge reworked to feature each school’s branding. But Houston’s version stands apart for its fidelity to the original, surfacing in a bold red suede with contrasting grey carbon fiber. These come closest to capturing the essence of the “Ferrari” 14 while still representing the Cougars’ identity.
As with most Jordan Brand PEs, these are strictly reserved for student-athletes, adding to their allure.
