Detailed Look At The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “EYBL”

Update: Additional images of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “EYBL.” No details regarding a potential public release have emerged to date.

Original article published May 11th, 2026:

A new colorway of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro has officially surfaced for the first time, offering an early look at another upcoming chapter in Kobe Bryant’s ever-expanding retro footwear legacy. As the newest member of the “EYBL” circuit, Nike’s long-standing initiative focused on developing the next generation of stars, the Kobe 5 Protro “EYBL” once again sparks up the chase for these not-for-retail exclusives.

Visually,  the pair immediately stands out thanks to its bold contrast of earthy and vibrant tones. The upper is primarily built around an olive green base that covers the toe-box, tongue, mid-panels, and heel, giving the silhouette a somewhat military-inspired foundation. That darker arrangement is quickly interrupted by bright neon accents layered across the shoe. A vivid neon yellow lands on the forefoot overlays and lace collar area, while a punchy mango orange appears on the Swoosh branding and interior lining.

The color interplay continues underfoot, where the yellow and orange hues blend together across the midsole in a gradient-style transition. Beneath that sits an icy translucent outsole, adding another familiar Kobe signature detail to the overall execution.

We’ll wait on any speculation surrounding the a possible release date, but given the history of Nike EYBL PEs, don’t hold your breath. Expect additional photos to emerge in the coming weeks. In related news, here’s what to expect for the Kobe 4 Draft Day blind box release.
