Sneaker News McDonald’s has officially announced its collaboration with Nike, Devin Booker, and the Book 2 signature shoe. Strongly inspired by the unique blue arches at the McDonald’s location in Sedona, this special edition version of Book’s second signature shoe takes shape in two editions. There’s the general release version (that light tan/blue edition) that will release to the public on June 2nd, but there’s a second Friends & Family edition in all-blue that will be available via a giveaway sweepstakes exclusively through the McDonald’s App.
Fans can enter the giveaway sweepstakes by downloading the McDonald’s app, opting into MyMcDonald’s Rewards, unlocking the sweepstakes bonus in the Rewards & Deals section, and purchasing one of six new specialty drinks. The entry period is from May 22nd through May 28th.
Additioanlly, Nike and McDonald’s are expected to open a pop-up for an earlier launch of the retail version; stay tuned for updates.

Devin Booker has consistently used his signature footwear line as a vehicle for personal storytelling, often tying colorways of the Nike Book 1 and Book 2 back to pieces of Arizona culture connected to his life with the Phoenix Suns. His latest collaboration with McDonald’s may initially appear playful on the surface, but the sneaker actually carries a surprisingly deep regional connection while also celebrating one of basketball’s biggest annual showcases for young talent.
The special edition Nike Book 2 was created in connection with the McDonald’s All-American Game, widely considered the premier stage for elite high school basketball prospects before they make the leap to college and eventually the NBA. Rather than simply leaning into McDonald’s recognizable red-and-yellow branding, Booker and Nike instead chose to spotlight the famous McDonald’s restaurant located in Sedona, AZ, notorious for being the only McDonald’s location in the world without the company’s traditional yellow Golden Arches.
Due to strict local ordinances designed to preserve Sedona’s naturally occurring desert tones and scenic landscape, the restaurant instead utilizes turquoise-blue arches that blend more harmoniously with the surrounding environment. We visited this specific McDonald’s in 2022; the fries are decent, the prices are higher than normal.
The actual Book 2 sneaker arrives dressed primarily in light tan and earthy brown shades, with cracked textures across the upper nodding directly to Arizona’s desert terrain and Sedona’s iconic rock formations. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s signature blue branding appears throughout the sneaker, including on the McDonald’s logos, packaging details, custom tissue paper, and additional accents spread across the shoe and box.
