Matt Varga Credit where credit is due: UnheardOf and their adidas adistar Control 5 series have vaulted Phillip Lipschutz to the forefront of sneaker collaborator conversations. If the original pink version from last year wasn’t enough, Phil and co. returned to the table a few short months ago, ordering an assortment of follow-ups that took the plush overhaul first introduced in 2024 into additional Easter-approved palette swaps.
If somehow you weren’t already stuffed from that quadruple serving, the Piggy Runner story lives on. No, sadly we don’t have news on a potential issue #3 just yet. But Lipschutz, in his duty as a featured guest at SneakerCon Detroit, flexed an off-menu item left on the cutting room floor. He revealed a “Porkchop” colorway that takes the theme literally, outfitting the Runner in light beige with a slightly rare pink center, peering through the Three Stripes for a trademark pop of color.
Though surely this “Porkchop” UnheardOf x adidas Piggy Runner will excite the sneaker public hoping for a release, this is consistent with Lipschutz’s overall transparency. He revealed a mashup light blue/pink halfway pint between 2024’s pairs that never saw the light of day.
