The hype that has followed the Iowa product since, well, Iowa, has comfortably crossed over into our neck of the woods. Handed the role of “face of the Kobe brand” in the W during the interim period between being drafted and the debut of her own design, even minting sell-out editions of Bryant’s footwear manifested as a holding pattern. Now it’s finally time to begin the Nike Caitlin 1 era.

However, within that social media reveal, as if this wasn’t a starry enough affair already, Clark showcased another Nike notable involved in the process. None other than Travis Scott was shown donning a jet-black pair of the Fever superstar’s signature shoe. For this pair, the raised “CC” siding, mesh foundations, and stacked, inset Swooshes are visible once again.
Scott’s co-sign here is obviously noteworthy on balance, bringing together one of Nike’s foremost young stars and the artist who continues to move product for them like no other. But it’s a relationship that has existed for years already. During her Hawkeyes tenure, Scott was in attendance to see the phenom break the all-time NCAAW scoring record. As her journey under the Swoosh truly got started, there was La Flame once again, sharing screen time with the likes of the Kelces and Michael Che for one of her first Nike spots.
At the time of this writing, exact release specifics for this pair are unclear. Famously, Nike’s wear-test samples lean on these sorts of black colorways, raising the possibility that this was nothing more than a beta version. However, a “Black/Metallic Silver/Racer Blue” colorway is confirmed to drop during the silhouette’s market run.
