What do Victor Wembanyama and Rihanna have in common? Without access to Ms. Fenty’s wingspan information, we can’t speculate on one potential commonality, but we do know that they’re both devotees of the Jacquemus Moon Shoe. Their “celeb style” moments were noteworthy for different reasons, as The Alien needed a custom job to fit his size 20.5, while RiRi stepping out in the high fashion collab let the world know her PUMA partnership was in the rear view.
Finding success with a beloved label like Jacquemus is one thing, but the Nike Moon Shoe has already shown that it doesn’t need such a cosign to find success. The initial wave of colorways is sold out in most sizes nearly everywhere it’s been stocked, meaning the Swoosh has to keep up the momentum with their track star turned fashion object.
For its next chapter, Nike is unleashing dueling “Malachite” and “Baroque Brown” option, pretty simple palette swaps on what the silo has already unveiled. Off-white jumbo Swooshes cut across either pair, with the brown leaning on a black platform and the green instead looking to gum sensibilities. The overall combination that’s made these an object of fascination, from early-era “low pro” tooling to summer-ready thin uppers to its accessible price tag, remain in place.
