Andrew Rizzo Lost in the shuffle of the New York Knicks’ historic playoff run is the fact that Donovan Mitchell finally reached his first conference finals this season, later than he’d hoped, sure, but a real step toward the larger goal he and Cleveland are chasing. The small-market, perpetually underrated superstar also happens to own one of the most slept-on sneaker lines in basketball, his last two signature models quietly outperforming the hype, or lack thereof, that’s surrounded them.
Next month brings the debut of the adidas D.O.N. Issue #8, Mitchell’s latest signature model, via a quintessential “Spider-Man” colorway inspired by Don’s long-held nickname. Here we have official images of the “Lucid Tangerine” colorway, expected to arrive August 15th. The titular color starts at the midfoot plate before bursting outward in gradient fashion across the midsole and web-like upper. Pulse Mint teal coloring takes over on the outsole, toe, and heel, while the tongue and inner bootie are done in black.
