Given they’ve been at the front of the pack for so long, Nike’s suggestion box is always absolutely stuffed. It feels like everyone has an adolescent favorite they’d want back on shelves, or a truer-to-original tooling they’re clamoring for in comment sections at large. It’s almost unbelievable to think about how loud requests for the OG (or OG-sized, really) Air Max 95 were before comparing that to the wealth of options at hand for those same fans today.

As we’ve noted countless times before, the Nike Air Max 95 has issued a dozen-plus iterations of the grey gradient, rehashing the essential formula for the 110 in every shade of the rainbow. For the Nike Air Max 95 “Infrared,” they’re flipping the script, instead taking the anatomical siding of the silhouette from dark at the top to light at the bottom and infusing the spaces between with “Solar Red”-like “Infrared” tonality. It’s another moment where Beaverton shows a willingness to advance the ball a bit when it comes to one of its more treasured designs, even if the overall palette won’t bowl anyone over.
