We’ve yet to do a full accounting, but in terms of what’s made a splash this year, mid-aughts bring-backs are among the highest-volume products out of Jordan Brand in 2026. The Air Jordan 5 “Black Carolina” just exited our view, with additional editions like the Jordan 4 “Tour Yellow” set to fill out the roster in the coming months.
An oft-requested pair is also on the horizon: the Air Jordan 5 “Sunset,” originally a women’s exclusive from ’06. Consistent with the “LS” (lifestyle) era, a period in which Jordan retros took a major step outside of team-approved stylings for more expressive or far-flung palettes, the sharktooth silo makes good on its title with red trim and orange accenting in the spaces between. Obviously, the combination of white leather and grey tongues that’s kept the AJ5 going for a generation is again in use across much of the remaining upper.
Now having learned their lessons from divisive changes on the Jordan 5 “Stealth 2.0” or Jordan 9 “Olive Concord,” this again strikes as a re-release that fairly venerates the first release. Though the shape differences that have overtaken the AJ5 in the 20 years since the original release distinguish the two versions side by side, overall the colorway rings true to what fans saw in 2006.
