Matt Varga Would it be fair to say that the Nike SB Blazer was ever exactly on par with the SB Dunk? It wouldn’t be, but during the sub-brand’s first real golden era, it was liable to reach the same heights as its fellow former basketball brother given the right colorway or collaboration (shoutout Supreme, shoutout the “Milk Crates.”)
That underdog story has continued apace through the highs and lows of Nike Skateboarding in the years since, and while the SB Dunk may have crested and cratered in resale shimmer, at the very least it’s remained a constant in the catalog. The SB Blazer has dipped in and out of view. For those who still ride for the sleek, simplistic style of the 70’s design, perhaps this “Coastal Blue” will be up your alleey. Though suede treatments in the upper lend a modernized appeal, a straightforward two-tone palette leans classy over creative. “Pale Yellow” interplay on the branding allows a faux-aged vein to sneak into this layout.
As a true general release, the Nike SB Blazer “Coastal Blue” doesn’t carry a firm release date. In lieu of one, expect these hitting Nike.com and skate shops as part of the ongoing Summer/Fall efforts. A $95 retail price is confirmed.
