Matt Varga Is the Nike Mind series the “stop the presses” giant it was at the start of the year? As fresh colorways have been added to the slate with increasing frequency, “no” is becoming a firmer answer. Does that mean the wider public getting the chance to test out what the brand purports to be a neuroscience-backed cushioning platform is any easier? Sadly, the answer to that is the same.
From Beaverton’s standpoint, even if aspirant buyers are greeted with a growing stack of “didn’t get ’em” screenshots, the continuing sell-out reception has to be a major win, a real feather in its cap as the brand has aimed at replacing staid staple product with genuine innovations. Yet even on its buzzy invention, there’s room to play the hits.
That’s exactly what the Nike Mind 001 “Triple White” accomplishes, looking to a joined color-blocking scheme between the network of pods underfoot and the molded upper. This variation avoids a completely flooded look by turning to “Metallic Silver” flashes on the branding hits and calming aquamarine on the insoles, but it still holds onto the everyday appeal that similarly coated pairs of the Air Force 1 have for a generation.
The Nike Mind 001 “Triple White” doesn’t currently have a firm release date, but it will retail at $95 upon arrival.
