Up Close With The Air Jordan 4 “Moore Chips” For Maya Moore

Spinning off of a 2015 release.

Up Close With The Air Jordan 4 “Moore Chips” For Maya Moore

Maya Moore is and remains a trailblazer in so many regards, her trophy case truly overflowing with accolades from every level of competition. With the W equally teeming with signature athletes, no doubt the most bustling era for footwear in the league, given the Caitlin 1, Sabrina 4, and plenty of others, the UConn product’s footwear legacy can’t be oversold.

The first woman to sign with Air Jordan understandably saw several of her handcrafted colorways hit the shelves, and even more stocking her closet as player exclusives. Even after her retirement, more eye-catching fare is trickling out, as we get a closer look at a Maya Moore Air Jordan 4 “Laser” PE created in her honor. As anyone around in the 2010s would recognize, the 30th-anniversary Jordan 4 “Laser” sets the foundation, both in the white-and-silver tonality throughout the upper and the icy traction underfoot.

However, the spaces between afford plenty of license to personalize these to Moore’s career and imagery. Silvery tones are the biggest overhaul, taking over the heel and the eyestay wings. A hefty dose of Lynx coloring, including on the insoles and the “23” text, injects her winning ways into this design. Finally, specific call-outs like “Chips” on the inside tongue and her signature logo on the reverse make these entirely hers.

Shared by PE/sample/collectors extraordinaire @englishsole, of course the Air Jordan 4 “Laser” for Maya Moore isn’t in the works for a public release. These 2019 exclusives will remain just that, but you can window shop to your heart’s content via the imagery throughout this article.
