Matt Varga The adoption of running as a venue for fashionable link-ups and collaborative executions certainly has made the sport a much more visible presence on social media pages and news aggregators (our site included). However, for the real die-hards, you’ll know that the arms race between the biggest brands to create the most responsive, fastest, lightest, greatest performance products has been raging on long before anyone’s favorite fashion label chose to join the fight.
New Balance’s flagship that fits the bill is the SuperComp Elite series, carrying both record-breaking spikes and longer-distance supertrainers, with the numbered “vx” family issuing new chapters in the latter on nearly a yearly basis. 2025’s v5 marked a rather radical change from previous steps, leaning lighter versus the chunkier, yet ultra-cushioned, models that had come before. In turn, the v6 keeps that change intact as it further hones its ethos of marathon performance. Clocking in at just 190 grams, the New Balance SuperComp Elite v6 builds that out with FANTOMFIT mesh uppers for both lightness and breathability, while Infinion foam and a midfoot plate promise the tech-filled propulsion demanded in the category.
The New Balance SuperComp Elite v6 releases on August 6th via New Balance online and retail locations, with four speedy colorways set to bring it to market. View those options below and keep our “Where To Buy” sections close by if you’re aiming to test this model out.
