The Nike Air Rift 2 Serves Up Y2K Vibes With “Metallic Silver”

The retro model's revival marches on.

The Nike Air Rift 2 Serves Up Y2K Vibes With “Metallic Silver”

Assuredly, Nike’s innovation machine has gotten involved plenty in their female footwear vertical; just look at the Nike First Sight family in seeing how past eras have informed the futuristic models included within. Yet with silhouettes like the Rejuven8 Run and Air Rift, intact icons of old are just as influential.

Keeping the success of the Air Rift going, already in the mix as a psuedo signature for Kim Kardashian and her NikeSKIMS sub-label, the Nike Air Rift 2 has quickly become part of the their ladies-first tapestry. Though more fortified in its upper and sole unit, and thus less representative of minimalist aesthetics, the Air Rift keeps the series’ selling point intact with segmented toes and a midline that stops short of full-length coverage. A “Metallic Silver” colorway presents a goes-with-everything sort of look for the re-established silhouette with some early-aughts attitude to go with it.

Expect the Nike Air Rift 2 “Metallic Silver” to hit Nike.com and partnering retailers in short order. A $125 retail price is confirmed.
