When (if?) the tech runner movement finally subsides, we wonder where the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 will rank among the brand’s all-time best-sellers. At this point, it’s probably as recognizable yb the younger demographic as a Dunk or Air Force, as the Swoosh’s foremost representative of throwback performance.

Countless colorways have landed on our desk over that period, and despite some more experimental fare and every manner of tone-on-white looks, the shoe keeps coming back to chrome. It’s a fitting home base given how essential metallic silver accents have been in Y2k aesthetics, again shining on this dark grey “Gridiron” colorway. Said reflective chrome appears on the overlays and Swooshes, elaving the rest of the real estate to a nocturnal steely arrangement with black traction to close.

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 “Gridiron” should be coming to shelves soon, retailing for $170 in women’s sizing.
