Another day, another zany hybrid. Obviously each iteration in the streetwear x formalwear scene warrants more discussion than “just another day at the office,” but it speaks to just how inescapable these sorts of mashups have become, as everyone from Nike to KEEN scrambles to keep up with the blurring lines between once entirely opposite categories.

The Air Jordan 1 Brooklyn now chips in its embrace of traditional gussied-up style. Almost resembling a Paraboot, raised leather panels bring derby construction to the Brooklyn, which typically kept the AJ1 upper unfettered while adding the chunky platform sole you still see here. Beyond the two eyelet closure, Jordan Brand reaches for subtle black/white and black/black colorways here, aligning with the formalized thesis behind this new invention.
