Andrew Rizzo The Air Jordan 5 “Sunset,” originally released in 2006, will have officially received its first-ever retro when pairs trickle out to retailers later this month, reprising a beloved women’s exclusive from yesteryear for the modern day. The arrival of official images now reveals, or rather confirms, what to expect.
Like most other recent bring-backs, the “Sunset” 5s return true to form, albeit with some slight differences between the 2006 and 2026 shape of the model. White leather forms the entire upper, while silver 3M holds down the tongue in proper fashion. The outsole, inner lining, and heel Jumpman logos land in Fire Red, while the titular Sunset orange animates the lace lock, tongue branding, and shark teeth detailing on the midsole.
This continues a thread of 2000s bring-backs for Jordan Brand following the return of the “Tour Yellow” 4s just a few weeks ago. While many such pairs have been held in high regard since their original releases, the sheer abundance of Jordan retros in recent seasons has sent many, for better or worse, straight to the sale rack. These might follow suit if you’re able to hold off on copping for a minute.
