Andrew Rizzo The Vans Old Skool, Slip-On, and Authentic have all received plenty of love from the brand as of late, each the subject of several deeply nuanced and inspired releases a la the “Pearlized” and “Charms” series. Now the Vans Half Cab, an icon in its own right, may be fixing to occupy that same air, here taking on a standout “Floral Tapestry” pack featuring two styles.
The pack leans on rich, multicolor embroidered tapestries with an exotic, almost Asian vibe to ’em, a reference that makes a whole lot of sense considering Steve Caballero’s iconic Chinese Dragon deck designs. That’s a reference the brand has nodded to on his signature shoe before, sometimes with an assist from collaborators as seen via Carpet Company’s semi-recent pack. The colorways are essentially inverted. One features pink fabric overlays with black underlays, while the other flips that combo on its head for a darker, somewhat more palatable appearance. Pink and black Half Cab tags match each shoe’s outer look, while pink and yellow foxing stripes line the pink and black colorways, respectively. Underfoot, Vibram soles provide top-tier durability.
The Vans Half Cab “Floral Tapestry” pack is available now via Sneaker Politics for $125 a pop. A larger release via Vans and additional retailers is expected in the near future. Check out official images below followed by purchase links.
