Andrew Rizzo Caitlin Clark was a Kansas City Chiefs fan before it was cool: before the rings, before Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce (and her friend Taylor Swift), hell, even before Andy Reid. A Chiefs-inspired colorway of her first-ever signature shoe is only natural, then, worn by the Indiana Fever star ahead of Sunday Night Football this past weekend.
The sneaker is officially called the Nike Caitlin 1 “Sea Of Red,” though the inspiration is known to be Caitlin’s favorite football team. Clark has left little guesswork about that part of her life, frequently popping up at Arrowhead to show her support. She also just so happens to be a massive Swiftie and has been spotted with Taylor at games, another side of her personality set to be told through sneakers via the Caitlin 1 “Friendship Bracelet.”
As for the sneaker itself, the “Sea Of Red” blends team colors with an official palette of “University Red/White-University Gold-Black-Metallic Silver-Racer Blue.” The repeating “C” and “2” detailing fades from red to yellow from the top down, while the layered Swooshes, meant to resemble “CC” for Clark’s initials, take on a compelling chrome finish.
